The Layout

Floor Plans

Villa Amfitriti is arranged across multiple levels, with an internal elevator allowing easy movement throughout the property. The central level hosts a spacious living area with floor to ceiling windows that frame sweeping views of the Cretan Sea. Beside it, the dining room and state of the art kitchen create a practical and elegant space for shared meals, with modern appliances, a coffee bar, and an informal dining nook.

This level opens directly onto a large outdoor terrace with an infinity pool, Jacuzzi, barbecue, outdoor dining area, and lush gardens. The connection between the interiors and exterior spaces makes the villa well suited to slow days by the water and relaxed sunset gatherings.

We spent a week at the villa and still look back on it with nostalgia. Mornings started with coffee on the terrace under the palm trees, overlooking the sea — yes, there’s a private access to the water, and it makes all the difference. The house itself is spacious and beautifully designed, with a real sense of taste and calm. Special thanks to George for being so attentive, responsive, and genuinely welcoming — that signature Greek hospitality! The Area

Villa Amfitriti is located in Palaiokastro, a small coastal village just west of Heraklion on the northern coast of Crete. The area is known for its blend of seaside calm, rugged scenery, and historical character, making it a strong choice for guests who want privacy without losing access to the city.

Palaiokastro takes its name from the Venetian fortress on the hill above the sea. Built in the 16th century to protect the Gulf of Heraklion, the fortress remains a landmark of the area and offers panoramic views across the Aegean Sea.

 

Today, Palaiokastro is valued for its pebbled beach, crystal clear waters, cliffs, olive groves, and scenic hiking trails. Its position close to Heraklion gives guests access to city life, cultural sites, and dining, while the village itself keeps a quieter coastal atmosphere that feels relaxed and authentic.
